Marcy Rylan: Is the old Y&R back?

I don't know about you, but FINALLY I think this show is finally getting its class back. Goodbye doppelgangers, hello Marcy Rylan! Forget Eden Riegel, this girl has potential to me to make a great storyline with her now SORAS'D character, Abby Newman. Wait! Do you recall Marcy say she was Abby Newman and not Carlton? What happened to Abby Carlton? Colleen and Brad is gone and she is no longer a Carlton anymore? And did you notice the preview at the end of the show, she then said she is an Abbott and a Newman. Again, she never mumbled the word, Carlton. Anyway, maybe I'm just over-reacting. So, I believe this girl is a bright light on this show. She done a wonderful job on Guiding Light before it was canceled, so I'm sure she'll do a fabulous job on Y&R! Here's a clip of her first scenes today!

Weekly Oldie: May 18th

Take a look at this weekly oldie from 1991 featuring Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman). Somehow, they tried to resurrect this storyline this year, but it wasn't a fan favorite obviously.

Adrienne Frantz Returning to B&B

Earlier this month, Adrienne Frantz' character, Amber, left town to get away from her conceited mother, Tawny, who came to Genoa City soon after Amber left. Now, Amber, er... Adrienne, will be returning back to her stomping grounds at B&B. I'm sure Little D, I mean, Eric, will be coming to LA with her. She will start taping her first scenes tomorrow, May 18th. Those episodes should be set to air on July 1st. And who's to say, Amber may bump into Deacon and Tawny along the way. Or we could possibly see her duking it out with Steffy (wouldn't we all?)! Here's a classic clip of Amber when she was in LA.

UPDATE: Daytime Emmy Nominations announced today on The Early Show!

Well folks, I had my DVD recorder set to tape The Early Show today, because this was the day that the Emmy Nominations would be announced. Here's a few at a glance. I'm quite pleased with this year's list!

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series:
Sarah Brown: Claudia Zacchara Corinthos - General Hospital
Crystal Chappell: Olivia Spencer - Guiding Light
Bobbie Eakes: Krystal Carey - All My Children
Michelle Stafford: Phyllis Newman - The Young and the Restless
Maura West: Carly Snyder - As The World Turns

My pick for the Emmy: Well, Michelle Stafford was on her A-game as always on Y&R, however I kind of wished Stacy Haiduk was nominated, but I have to say Michelle Stafford does a great performance on the show and so I hope she gets the Emmy. However, Crystal Chappell should also get the Emmy because I loved loved loved the Otalia storyline and it was just fantastic and Crystal done a great job on that show!

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series:
Peter Bergman: Jack Abbott - The Young and the Restless
Doug Davidson: Paul Williams - The Young and the Restless
Jon Lindstrom: Craig Montgomery - As The World Turns
Michael Park: Jack Snyder - As The World Turns
James Scott - EJ Wells - Days of our Lives

My pick for the Emmy: Sorry folks but I never watched Days as a regular viewer, I watch ATWT occasionally but I always get their names mixed up so I'm going to have to pick between the 2 Y&R cast members, Doug Davidson done an OK job with the Nikki/Paul storyline, and the Mary-Jane revelation storyline. However, Peter Bergman was almost nearly caught in the middle of all the storylines on the show last year. And he done an absolutely marvelous job with the Mary-Jane/Patty storyline and the affair with Phyllis. So I'm going to have to give it to Peter Bergman!

Outstanding Daytime Drama Series:
All My Children: ABC
The Bold and the Beautiful: CBS
General Hospital: ABC
The Young and the Restless: CBS

My pick for the Emmy: WOW! Well, I don't know about AMC, they were... iffy last year, B&B was OK, but really it was just another year for Ridge to flip-flop between Brooke and Taylor, a mainstay on the show, I'm sorry but the poor man needs to make up his mind! Anyway, GH was pretty good too! As well as Y&R, they were way better last year than this year for a fact. So I think it's a tie-breaker between General Hospital and The Young and the Restless!

This was pretty much all the nominations they aired for the soaps on The Early Show, I'll update you with the rest of the noms!

Weekly Oldie: May 11th

Here is a full episode from May 10, 1988, 22 years ago yesterday! Take a look at what storylines were going on at the time! I like the old hair commercials... gives me a good laugh at some of the late 80s doos! Not to mention, some of the cast member's hair including Lauren's was absolutely hilarious. Sorry about the quality folks, this came from someone's collection on YouTube. And it came from a 22 year old VHS tape as far as I know, so it's not unusual for a tape this old to look like this.

Y&R Promo: Nick's Freedom Depends on a Deranged Woman

Well folks the doppelgangers may have phased out a little bit - meaning the Ryder/Daisy/Sarah storyline that practically everyone hated (honestly if they brought Kimberlin Brown back I think it would've been a great storyline - but enough about that) well it seems Patty has once again gone cuckoo for cocoa puffs since her plan to kill Emily didn't exactly go as planned (thank God Jack finally came to his senses again and knew it was Patty - you go Jack!). So here is this week's promo for Y&R!
